Frequently asked questions about planning an event in Karachi from abroad
Direct answers to the questions overseas families ask before trusting anyone with an event in Karachi.
Getting started
How does Doorstep Pakistan manage a wedding in Karachi while we live abroad?
You agree a written scope, budget and timeline with us on video calls. We then book and manage every vendor in Karachi, pay vendors under contract from the agreed budget, and post every task, photo and receipt in your private client dashboard. One assigned Client Executive is accountable to you from first call to final report.
Who will be my point of contact?
Every registered client is assigned one dedicated Client Executive (CE). Your CE manages your event, updates your dashboard and answers your messages in the dashboard. If your CE is unavailable, a named colleague covers and the change is shown in your portal.
How early should we contact you before the event?
For a full wedding, three to six months gives the best choice of venues and vendors in Karachi, especially for December and the wedding season. Smaller events can be arranged in four to six weeks. Day-of Coordination can be arranged with two to three weeks notice.
Do you only work in Karachi?
Yes. We work only in Karachi because operational control depends on local knowledge, local vendors and a team that can be on site the same day.
Money and payments
How are vendor payments handled when we are abroad?
Vendor payments are made only under a signed contract and only from a budget you have approved in writing. Each payment is recorded in your dashboard with the vendor name, amount, date and an uploaded receipt, so you can see money received, money paid out and the remaining balance at any time.
Can we pay vendors directly ourselves?
Yes. Some families prefer to pay certain vendors directly. We record those payments in your dashboard as well, so you still have one complete picture of the event budget.
What does the service cost?
Our fee depends on the size of the event, the number of functions and the add-ons you choose. We quote a fixed fee in writing after a free consultation. The fee is separate from vendor costs, and both are shown separately in your dashboard.
Tracking and updates
How can we track event progress from abroad?
After registration you get a private dashboard showing overall progress, each main activity, the sub-tasks inside it with their status (pending, in progress or completed), progress photos and videos, and the full payment record. It works on any phone or computer.
How often will we receive updates?
Your dashboard is updated as work happens. With the Structured Progress Protocol you also receive a written report every week and a video call every two weeks, at times agreed in advance.
Can other family members see the dashboard?
The dashboard belongs to the registered client. You can share your login with family members you trust, or ask us to send the same weekly report to more than one email address.
How do we communicate with our Client Executive?
All communication with your Client Executive happens in the Messages section of your client dashboard. You receive an email whenever a new message arrives. Every message is stored permanently with the sender and time, cannot be deleted by you or your Client Executive, and can be reviewed by our management, so there is never a dispute about what was agreed.
Why do you verify my email when I register?
We send a 6-digit code to your email and only accept the registration once the code is entered. This confirms that progress reports, receipts and payment records reach the right person and not a mistyped address.
Risk and reputation
Why not just ask relatives in Karachi to arrange everything?
Relatives often help out of love, but they have their own work and families, they may not know current vendor prices, and disagreements about money can strain family relationships. A contracted team takes the operational load and the accountability, so relatives can attend as guests.
What happens if a vendor fails to deliver?
Vendors are booked under written contracts with clear deliverables. For critical services such as power, sound and transport we keep backup options identified in advance. If a vendor fails, your CE switches to the backup, records what happened in your dashboard and explains the cost impact before anything else is paid.
How do you protect our family's reputation on the day?
We plan for the things guests notice: punctual food service, working power and sound, clean venues, correct seating and smooth arrivals. Contingencies for load-shedding, traffic and weather are prepared before the day, not improvised during it.
